First long-term outsourcing water contract to be awarded by Beijing to an international company
Veolia and its partner established the Beijing Lunan Wastewater Operation Co., Ltd. to provide operation and maintenance services in wastewater treatment in Lugouqiao for the Fengtai area in Beijing. It is the first long‐term outsourcing contract to be awarded by the Municipality of Beijing to a foreign company in the water industry. The Lugouqiao wastewater treatment plant was the first of a series of wastewater plants to be built as part of the city's preparations for the 2008 Olympic Games.
